The Macoupin County Archives has, in its files, indexes/listings of many veterans buried in numerous Macoupin County cemeteries.  The WPA compiled the indexes during the Depression Era.

The following list of veterans was on one typed sheet.  There were no individual “work Sheets” as there were for some cemeteries.  The list started with the letter “S”, so I don’t know if there are more sheets available, or if these are the only military members buried here.  If your ancestor was a veteran and is supposed to be buried here, but is not listed, it is only because I didn’t find any more names.  Perhaps another index of names will turn up later.  The information here will give you an idea of what the WPA found on your veteran.
