(Note from Rhonda Miller- "Ella's father was Elijah Shade not John Shade. John Shade was her grandfather.Ella Catherine Shade was the daughter of Elijah Shade and Elizabeth Ann Asbury Dawson. Elijah's sister Mary Shade married Elisha Dawson (who was Elizabeth Ann Asbury Dawson's brother). Both the Shade's and the Dawson's came from Virginia and West Virginia area into Macoupin County. Elijah Shade was the son of John Shade and Elizabeth (Garries) or Gaines have not verified maiden name yet. John was the son of Jacob Shade (born in Germany) and Gertrant Gertrude Huff (born in Germany). Jacob Shade was the son of Jacob Shade and Sophia ??? and this Jacob Shade was the son of Phillip Henry Shade and Mary ???? Phillip was the son of John Shade and Emma Crouse.I have more information on the Tucker's, Shade's, and Dawson's.")
