Can't find a birth or death certificate?
    From Cindy Leonard:
"The physicians of this county are negligent about making returns of births and deaths. The law requires a return be made within thirty days, under a penalty of ten dollars. But it is frequently several months after a birth or death before the attending physician reports the same to the county." - quote from the Macoupin County Herald, March 28, 1879, p 8.

    Marriage Records
IRAD is cheap if you can find the marriage record there and don't need the marriage certificate. Records for 1829-1877 have the information that the certificate has on it, not much information but still if you just want information for these years, IRAD is the cheapest. The most important part of a marriage certificate after 1877 is the marriage record/registers which contain all the information about the bride and groom. See IRAD definitions.
For years 1877-1900, the records cost ten cents each at IRAD, minimum cost is $1.00 but you can request 10 copies and still will only be $1.00 total cost.
