"IN MEMORY OF PATRIOTS & SOLDIERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION BURIED IN MACOUPIN COUNTY"
This monument, donated and dedicated by the Macoupin chapter Daughters of the American Revolution in 1981,
is located on the Northwest corner area of the Macoupin County courthouse lawn, Carlinville, Illinois.

** NOTE: My ancestor, William Kirk - Patriotic Service: Virginia. He was a Gunsmith detailed to make muskets at Harpers Ferry in Col. Baylor's Light Horse Calvary.
"Do you see the spelling, "Patriotiot" on the stone? We wonder why the DAR would have allowed this misspelling?"
